Pet Portraits

I’ve been using, researching, and loving Social Media for years. I also have a natural talent for Art, in many of its guises. So, I decided to do something different. I’m starting a new Social Media odyssey and experiment of hand drawn pet portraits. I have always had a love and a special gift for Art and everything I see, perceive, and understand is through this contextual periscope. Yes…even pets.

Anyone that knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for pets…especially dogs. Whether alive or passed on, the bond between pet and owner is virtually unbreakable and quite tangible. We all to some degree or another get attached to a pet and think of them anthropomorphically as part of the family, like a son, daughter, sibling, etc. It’s important to recognize them as such. After all…They give us hope, when we despair. They make us laugh, when we cry. They open our hearts and eyes to a Utopian World where only Love exists.

When a pet eventually passes it feels like a part of our hearts have been ripped away, only to be left with emptiness and longing. I know that feeling and it’s terrible. But not even the fabric of Space / Time itself could ever take away or destroy that eternal love.

These are some of the reasons why I have decided to invest my time and energy into this project. And even though I most likely will never meet your pet, I assure you that will draw him/her with the same dedicated love, affection as if they were my own.

My drawings are always done in pencil on 4.5 x 6.75 inch Italian archival quality paper. I always make them small as a way to make them extremely intimate for the owner. Art is just like having a pet because it’s difficult to appreciate it from a distance. You need to get up close and live with it to truly understand and look them in the eyes and say, “I love you.”

How does Social Media play into all of this?

Great question! I have decided that I will do exact “ZERO” advertising for this experiment. There will not be $0.01 cent WASTED on a PPC (Pay-Per-Click) Google campaign. I will rely strictly on Social Media as the driving force that will power my experiment to see how far being connected online truly reaches. I know that I am putting myself out there emotionally and physically for something that may or may not be successful. This is what a true artist does. They stick their proverbial neck out to do something different, to learn, to gain insight. (Not that there aren’t other people online doing pet portraits, but hopefully you catch my drift.) I may succeed. I may fail miserably, but I know 2 things. I’m damn good at drawing…and I’m damn good at Social Media. So…why not marry the 2 asymmetrically? The important thing is to maintain integrity and quality customer service.

My drawings are extremely affordable and I’m excited to be able to share my gift and love for drawing with all of you. They are priced at $80 USD + cost of shipping via USPS.

When your drawing is completed, I will contact you via email with a personalized letter. You will receive the following:

- Original drawing w/my signature, title, and date on back

- A hand written letter from myself regarding your drawing

- Hi-res Digital image of the drawing (email only)

- My everlasting energy and love for your pet :D

Disclaimer: I’m sorry, but I do have to put the following disclaimer in because we live in the most ridiculously litigious society on the planet. PAYPAL is the only form of payment accepted for online orders. Cash can only be accepted when given to the artist, Andrew David Baron, in person. Payment in full due before drawing can be started. Client is responsible for emailing a high resolution photo to the artist, Andrew David Baron, in order for any work to begin. There are absolutely no refunds as drawing is considered a subjective Art form and overall quality will vary from artwork to artwork. That being said, the artist, Andrew David Baron, will try hard to instill a likeness and warmth to each piece.
